The moose calf was in Sandy Stream Pond in Baxter State Park. it was tiring from swimming around its mother, who was busy feeding. The calf finally found a rock behind its mother just below the surface to stand on and exhausted, stood there waiting patiently in the shadow of Katahdin for mom to finish. With a little anticipation I was able to move down the  shoreline and position myself at the right angle to take what I consider one of those “once in a lifetime” photographs.
